Sex Addiction Recovery

Trauma Therapy

Are you struggling to come to terms with your traumatic experiences? Do you minimize, deny, or have trouble naming your experiences as traumatic? We understand the many challenges that come along with unresolved trauma, and are trained in several treatment methods in order to help both adolescents and adults process and heal. Through education, narratives, and healthy coping skills, we’ll help you regain control of your life and release the power your trauma has been holding over you.

Facilitated Disclosure

Telling your family, friends, or children you’re an addict can be one of the hardest parts of recovery. Research has indicated that regardless of the age of your children, they have the ability to notice that something is going on with you. Whether they have learned to keep secrets to protect you, or are exposed to an unhealthy dynamic between you and your partner, they understand enough. Our specialists can customize a disclosure of your addiction to the important people in your life within the Chicago area and beyond. We’ll work with you and your entire family to help guide you through this process in a more structured and healthy way.

Somatic Experiencing Therapy

Have you worked hard in therapy, made progress towards resolving your trauma, and yet still get triggered by past beliefs and events in your everyday life? Our specialists have found that the use of talk therapy is not necessarily enough for everyone to heal from the painful symptoms of trauma. Somatic Experiencing does not focus on the story of trauma as much as it teaches you to connect to and understand what your body actually needs to heal, rather than using some of the coping skills you are using now that are no longer healthy or effective.

Religious and Spiritual Abuse

Explore your past relationships with religion, spirituality, and disentangle yourself from the confusing, painful, and traumatizing messages, beliefs, and experiences that have become obstacles to an authentic, connected, and congruent relationship to your faith or your spiritual truth. Our clinicians have worked extensively with the Jewish religious community (including Chareidi) as well as Conservative and Evangelical Christians- however, we welcome clients from all belief systems to work with us to resolve their spiritual wounds.
